Everyone talks about them these days, right?

They’re super popular.

You can listen to them anytime,

anywhere…

And believe me when I say

they’re actually very “effective”!

So, if you’re looking for an easy,

efficient and fun way

to improve your English speaking

and listening skills,

then this video is for you!

One of the best podcasts out there is

ESL podcast

which I’m really obsessed with!

It is the first and longest-running podcast

on the Internet

launched in July 2005

by two former university professors.

The purpose of ESL Podcast

is to teach English by using everyday phrases

and expressions

about almost everything,

spoken at a slow rate of speech,

which is very good for the beginners,

and followed by explanations of

what these expressions mean

and how to use them.

This course consists of 9 parts

and each part contains lots of episodes,

with different topics.

I mean

you can learn to talk about everything in here!

What about “going to the post office”?

And I need to send this package

priority to San Francisco.

“You want insurance with that?

” he asks me.

“Uh, I don’t know,

what do you recommend?

“Well,” he says,

“you can send it priority with tracking

if you want to see when it gets there,

you can send it insured

if the contents are valuable,

or you can do both.

So, the first thing you notice here

is his rate of speech, right?

He speaks very slowly and clearly.

And then,

you hear a lot of words and expressions

used in a real conversation

in a real post office!

And at the end,

He explains everything about these words

and expressions.

He explains them perfectly!

For example, the word priority in this context.

If you sent something Priority,

usually, that means it will arrive

in two to three days,

even if it’s on the other side of the country.

For example,

if I send a package from Los Angeles to New York

first class mail – regular mail,

it may take up to a week to arrive.

But, if I send it Priority Mail,

it will arrive in two to three days.

I myself listen to this podcast every day

and learn something new from it every time.

new words,

New phrases,

their meanings,

pronunciation

and how or when they’re used in real English.
