What is the difference?

Let me tell you a story.

When I was a beginner learner,

I would always get confused

whenever I had to use this word.

I couldn’t decide which form is correct

so I just used to go with whatever that

felt right for my sentence!

What I didn’t know was that

the word “into” is a preposition

that usually expresses movement of something

toward or into something else

or it can have other meanings.

For example:

He got into the train.

He walked into the room.

into is one unit

a preposition

“in to,” on the other hand,

is the adverb “in”

(which is part of a phrasal verb)

followed by the preposition “to.

They aren’t really related

and only happen to fall next to each other

based on sentence construction.

For Example:

I dropped in to see you.

are totally separate units on their own,

to see and to our website

are the other units.
