تفاوت do, does و did چیه؟

In this video you’re going to learn the difference between do, does, and did!

Well, all three of these are different forms of “to do”.

We use do/ does/ did as the auxiliary in order to make negative statements and questions …

now I’m going to talk about each one specifically.

Do and does are the present simple congregations of “to do”

and you can simply use one or the other based on the subject you have.

If your subject is I, you, we, they you need to use “do”.

And if your subject is he, she and it you need to use “does”.

And yeah, that’s the only difference between “do” and “does”.

But keep in mind that “do” as a verb is used in some specific sentences in the simple present.

For example:

You do your homework.

She does the chores.

In these sentences do and does are the main verbs…

not auxiliary.

If you want to make these sentences negative, you have:

You don’t do your homework.

She doesn’t do the chores.

I can even make questions out of those sentences:

For example:

What do you do?

Or does she do the chores?

Remember that after do or does you must use the base form of the main verb.

So this is not correct:

You don’t doing your homework.

And nor is this one:

She doesn’t does the chores.

Now let’s go through “did”.

Did is the past simple form of the verb” to do”

and the good news is that there’s no difference with subjects!

So you can use did for all subjects.

For example: We did our homework last night.

I did the laundry last week.

Did she go to work yesterday?

He didn’t do the chores last week.

Remember that after did you have to use the base form of the main verb….

Just like do and does!

Now let’s complete these sentences with do/ does and did.

1-She ——- her homework every weekend.

2- ——– they go to the movies last night?

3-They don’t ——- gymnastics.
