is the birthday of Abolghasem Ferdowsi,

a highly distinguished Iranian poet.

For this reason, I have prepared this video for you.

interesting things about Abolghasem Ferdowsi.

Abolghasem Ferdowsi,

the author of the Shahnameh,

the national epic of Iran,

was born in 329 AH

and is said to have died in 416 AH.

Some people consider Ferdowsi

to be the greatest world-renowned Persian poet.

Shahnameh is the most important work of Ferdowsi

and one of the greatest works

of ancient Persian literature.

Ferdowsi’s Shahnameh,

which has exactly 49530 verses,

is a collection of national stories

and the history of the ancient kings of Iran

and the great heroes of our land,

which describes their heroic deeds

along with conquest,

heroism, courage and religiosity.

There are more than 300 characters in Shahnameh,

48 of whom are kings.

After spending all his time in thirty-five years

making such a lasting and precious work,

Abu al-Qassem Ferdowsi

presented his completed masterpiece

to Sultan Mahmud,

perhaps To receive a reward.

Sultan Mahmud first

promised to give sixty thousand dinars

as a reward,

but some time later he did not keep his promise

and sent only sixty thousand dirhams,

one tenth of the amount

he had promised to Ferdowsi.
